Craig Robinson Fined For Drugs In Bahamas
Comic actor Craig Robinson, best known for his role in The Office, has been briefly held for drug possession as he tried to leave the Bahamas.
The American actor, who was in the Bahamas for a comedy show, was stopped as he tried to board a US-bound plane in the capital Nassau.
Customs agents found a small amount of marijuana and pills deemed suspicious, according to Stephen Dean of the Royal Bahamas Police Force.
"It was nothing major," Mr Dean said.
The actor was taken into custody and appeared before a magistrate, where he pleaded guilty to two counts of drug possession, the AP news agency reported.
He said he had brought the drugs from the US and did not know they were illegal in the Bahamas.
Magistrate Andrew Forbes ordered the 41-year-old to pay a $1,000 (£620) fine and directed that he be turned over to authorities and removed from the country.
The actor could have faced four years in prison.
Robinson is familiar to many for his portrayal of Philbin, a warehouse foreman on The Office.
He has also appeared in movies including Pineapple Express, This Is The End, and Hot Tub Time Machine.
