Dappy brawl drama sparked by Brian May boast

Former N-Dubz star Dappy became caught up in a brawl at a gas station last year after boasting about his collaboration with Queen guitarist Brian May, a court has heard.

The rapper has pleaded not guilty to three counts of assault and an affray charge stemming from the alleged incident in Surrey last February.

The case went to court this week, and in the opening statements it was claimed the 25-year-old star - real name Costadinos Contostavlos - sparked the fight by allegedly spitting at two teenage girls after they labelled him "boring".

Contostavlos took to the stand at Guildford Crown Court on Thursday and claimed he had been victimised "for being famous".

He alleges he approached the females and told them Queen icon May featured on his single Rock Star - but they refused to believe him.

The rapper said, "They had it in for me, they really didn't want me to leave being happy with what I had been doing, which was promoting my product.

"I wanted to prove it to them. I said, 'Give it a week and you will see a video of me and him together'."

Dappy is standing trial with two other defendants - Kieran Vassell, 25, of west London, and Kalonji Stewart, 32, from Birmingham - who both deny charges of affray.

Another defendant, Alfred Miller, 28, of west London, pleaded guilty to affray and his case was adjourned for sentencing.

The trial continues.

I think spitting at someone is the filthiest insult and just shows the type of person who does it for what they really are, not to mention the potential for disease from this kind of clown!
