Dappy in hot water for Down Syndrome tweet

Rapper Dappy has come under fire from charity bosses over a 'Down Syndrome' jibe at a follower on Twitter.com.

The N-Dubz star became embroiled in an argument with a fan on the microblogging website on Thursday after taking exception to a tweet.

Growing angry at the fan's criticism, he hit back, "Ur a d**khead in your HOOD you've never BEEN KNOWN. I'll get your Face F**ked DOWN SYNDROME."

The star later deleted the insult, but charity chiefs at the the Down's Heart Group organisation have been left disgusted by his derogatory use of the term.

The charity's Sarah Smith tells The Sun, "People with Down's Syndrome have such a lot to offer. There will be a lot of Dappy's fans who have Down's Syndrome who will not be happy he used that term as a form of abuse."
