Darling: China Won't Save Europe From Crisis

Former Chancellor Alistair Darling has told Sky News that China "won't come to Europe's rescue" despite increased hopes of financial help.
Global interest in whether China will help bolster the eurozone's bailout fund has been growing since the rescue package was agreed last week.
But when asked on Jeff Randall Live whether he thought China will intervene, Mr Darling said: "No, they'll play for long term. They're going to sit back and they're just going to watch."
He said the Chinese "aren't indifferent or daft" when it comes to helping the region.
"After last week's deal, someone went to China and the Chinese had a look and it and then said: 'No, just come back when you've sorted it out.'
"That's when alarm bells ought to be ringing," he added.
Mr Darling's comments have come as France's president Nicolas Sarkozy holds a working dinner with his Chinese counterpart Hu JinTao.
The European Financial Stability Facility currently stands at 440bn euros but Europe's leaders hope to boost it to 1trn euros.
China's GDP grew by over 9% in the third quarter from a year earlier - significantly more than Europe's economies - and the country has the world's largest foreign currency reserves.
The pressure is on for politicians at the G20 meeting to convince Hu JinTao that his financial firepower would be well-placed in supporting Europe.
Foreign ministry spokesman, Hong Lei, said his country believes Europe can "resolve its current difficulties".
"China consistently places importance on the euro and the eurozone's development and has always believed the EU has the ability to resolve current difficulties," he said.
"China will always be an important investor in the European financial market."
The European debt crisis will dominate the agenda at the G20 meeting in Cannes.
But a surprise Greek referendum on the region's bailout, announced by prime minister George Papandreou on Monday, has led to market fluctuations across the world.

The Chinese only produce what they can sell if you buy it they will make it. I despise the government but that does not change the fact that we have one it too is crap but that is life. If they bail Europe out of trouble which I do not believe they will as it would be throwing money away. Our government are thinking of contributing more of our money into Europe is that not crap. But there again China has more of a democracy than we have here in the UK we just have a dictatorship and government law breaking as and when it suits them. An inefective opposition who do not question or debate things. Democracy is dead, We do not have a future, in the UK while we have a non elected government. Who thought we had a future as a country?

They're not called "The Yellow Peril" for nothing. They invented the long game but most western politicians are naive children when it comes to global strategy.Be honest, most of them couldn't work out the tactics required to fill a teacup. Anyone who thinks China has any interest in bailing out the West should really consult the fairies at the bottom of their garden. They'd get better advice than they're getting from their advisors at the moment.

I despise the chinese,,we in the west are blinded by the cheap crap they produce, they are playing a waiting game indeed, but forget about the euro crisis, the waiting game thay are playing is one which will see them the dominant force in the world and we will be relegated to the likes of a 3rd world nation looking for handouts from the UN,,i have decided not to buy any more chinese rubbish as i don't want to flame the fire of my ruin which will sure as hell come if we continue down this road of deluding ourselves we have a stake in the future, not if china has a say in it we won't.

Do not hate the Chinese people but the system they are governed by. What we think we suffer here is nothing compared to them. They are a most wonderful people.
