David Hasselhoff films beach TV ad

Former Baywatch star David Hasselhoff has returned to the beach for a bizarre new TV commercial.

The actor is seen carving a piano out of sand before attempting to steal a passer-by's iced coffee and woo the man's bikini-clad girlfriend.

The 30-second advertisement ends when Hasselhoff's love rival leans on the sand-piano, causing it to crumble.

Hasselhoff, who is celebrating his 60th birthday on Tuesday, shot the ad for U.S. retail chain Cumberland Farms.
