Dean Mayley: Teenagers Charged With Murder
Two 17-year-olds have been charged with the brutal murder of a man with learning difficulties.
Dean Mayley was 24 but had a development disorder which meant he had the mental age of a nine-year-old.
He was attacked at around 5.30pm on February 7 as he made his way to see a relative in Greenford, west London.
Police released CCTV footage of Mr Mayley's final bus journey in a bid to find his killers.
A post-mortem examination found he died from a single stab wound and police said he was attacked with such force that his heart was pierced.
The two teenage males are due to appear in custody at Willesden Youth Court today.
They are also charged with conspiracy to rob and possession of an offensive weapon.
Detective Chief Inspector Matt Bonner, in charge of the investigation, said: "This was a vulnerable man who would have shown an unusual degree of trust in those who he came across and it is utterly sickening that he should have been set upon in this way."
