Dramatic Footage Of Armed Robbery Released
CCTV footage has been released of the moment two robbers armed with a machete and large knife threatened workers at a Post Office in Oldham.
One of the men forced a male shop assistant at the High Crompton Post Office on to the floor, while his accomplice made a woman hand over cash from the till.
The robbers then left the shop, got into a black Ford Focus and sped off.
Neither of the victims was injured but both were left badly shaken after the robbery on August 24.
Greater Manchester Police have released the footage to try and trace the two men.
One of the robbers is decribed as 5ft 7ins and of medium build. He was wearing a black, three-quarter length coat with a white design on the upper left sleeve.
His face was covered with tights over a balaclava and he was carrying a machete.
The other man was around 6ft tall, of heavy build, and was wearing a red hoodie with white writing on the front and tights over his head. He was the one carrying the large knife.
Detective Constable Emily Palmer, of Oldham CID, said: "Anyone viewing the CCTV images will share our dismay at the level of violence meted out by these robbers.
"Anyone going to work in a local shop should never be subjected to this kind of ordeal but I can reassure the victims that we are confident that we will catch up with these offenders.
"I would ask people to take a good close look at the CCTV pictures and let us know if you recognise these males."
:: Anyone with information is asked to call Oldham CID on 0161 856 8951 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.

Well the lard barrel should be easy to find! Lowlife "word censored by Orange". The dirty stuff that collects on top of ponds. Rhymes with "mum".
In the US, those thugs would have been shot dead by the shop owner. No need for a police investigation nor to spend money jailing them.
