Elton John wants second child

Sir Elton John and David Furnish are planning to have another child via surrogate so their son will have a sibling.

The couple became parents to 13-month-old Zachary on Christmas Day 2010, and have doted on the tot ever since.

Despite expressing fears his son will be "stigmatised" for having two gay fathers, filmmaker Furnish has revealed the pair is eager to have another child later this year depending on their schedules.

He tells London's Evening Standard, "I would like Zachary to have a sibling. I think he would be better with a sibling than on his own. It's something we talk about all the time. But in terms of when, where and how, nothing's decided yet.

"I think we are going to wait 'til this summer. Our life is always like a treadmill with Elton constantly working and touring. But when we go away to our house in France, that's when we sit back and go, 'OK, how is this working, how are you feeling?'"

Furnish adds the couple is considering using the same surrogate who carried Zachary, and they will not know who the biological father is.

He explains, "We could go back to the same egg donor, so biologically there would certainly be a connection between brother and brother or brother and sister."

what do you think?

seems strange that the'yre not so "fearfull" about their children being stigmatised that they don't forego their own whims so that the poor kids don't put up with the ridicule. i do not agree with this form of "family". don't care if people are straight or not, but children are a product of heterosexual relationships. if you are not heterosexual ( apparently orange deem the word "g-y" to be offensive!!!!!), accept it. i'm heterosexual and accept that i don't know the lyrics to all the west end shows and don't act theatrical every time a problem arises.

Ignoring the fact these two men think they have aright to have a child and are concerned about him growing up in a same gender house, aren't they a bit old? I agree with Arthur: yuk

These "guys" will probably buy a child from a third world country, then employ a wet nurse to change nappies, clear up the vomit.

If they can bring up a child well looked after and give him/her a good education I dont see the problem. There are Many heterosexual couples who treat their children appallingly. Too much said about the sexuality of the parents yes not much if anything said about the care & prospects of the child.

will baker, just becuase there are loads of bad heterosexual parents around does not justify two homosexuals "buying" a family. no problem with them being "not straight"., but they should lead there life accordingly. they want the fruits of a straight relationship and the flambouyancy of a" different" one. p.s. does anybody else think it strange that the words g-a-y and h-m-s-xual unnacceptable to orange?

I'm sure it will be far better for Zachary to have a sibling than to be an only child. Let's face it, he's going to have a weird enough upbringing with these two as parents, so having a fellow sibling may normalise the family dynamics. I don't know why they didn't adopt? As it appears neither of them was the sperm donor for Zachary... I wonder why? I suppose with all that money, Elton only has to wave his cheque book in the air in order to get a string of surrogates lining up with their wombs for hire! At the end of the day, if Elton and David can provide a loving family environment for children to grow up in, then where's the harm? It may not be the traditional family archetype, but two same sex parents in a loving relationship are better than two heterosexual parents that are constantly at eachothers throats!
