Emma Stone joins Naomi Watts in theatre comedy

Emma Stone and Naomi Watts are teaming up on the big screen for a new Alejandro Gonzalez dark comedy.

The two leading ladies will star opposite Michael Keaton and Zach Galifianakis in the project about a man who attempts to stage a Broadway play to revamp his theatre career.

Stone will play Keaton's daughter in Birdman, while Watts has signed up to portray a demanding diva, fresh out of rehab, who takes the lead in the fictitious play.

The film is set to go before cameras next month, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
