Emma Thompson's Annie script gets gets rewrite revamp

The woman who adapted The Devil Wears Prada for the big screen has been commissioned to revamp Emma Thompson's first draft for Jay-Z and Will Smith's Annie musical.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, writer Aline Brosh McKenna will put the finishing touches to the screenplay for the project, which is being billed as a hip-hop remake of the beloved family musical.

Smith and Jay-Z are producing the film, which will star Smith's daughter Willow as the singing orphan.
