Emotions Run High In New Interstellar Trailer
He has played a cowboy and a policeman and now Matthew McConaughey is hitting the big screen as an astronaut in the upcoming film Interstellar.
In a new trailer the Oscar winner is joined by Anne Hathaway and Michael Caine in Christopher Nolan's drama about explorers who travel through a wormhole in space to discover more habitable worlds.
McConaughey plays Cooper, a father who must leave his children behind on Earth if he is to save humanity.
As he struggles to deal with the prospect of never seeing them again, Hathaway's character Brand tells him: "Love is the one thing that transcends time and space" in the emotional clip.
McConaughey and British director Nolan surprised fans at Comic-Con in San Diego last week when they made an unannounced appearance.
The Dallas Buyers Club star said Interstellar is the "biggest and most ambitious film" the Dark Knight creator has ever attempted.
The film is to be released in cinemas in November.
