Ethan Hawke heaps praise on role model Adele

Actor Ethan Hawke has heaped praise on singer Adele for giving his teenage daughter a healthy body image role model.

The Training Day star fears his daughter Maya, from his marriage to actress Uma Thurman, will grow up with an unhealthy obsession with being thin as young girls are bombarded by so many images of skinny celebrities.

However, after taking Maya to see Adele play live, he was overjoyed to see his daughter idolising a fuller-figured woman.

He tells the Daily Telegraph newspaper, "We were both floored (impressed by the show). Wow! It was such a great experience. It was a small club, and my daughter had never seen anything like that. And as the father of a 14 year old, I want to kiss Adele. Everybody else is starving to lose another 25 pounds, and it's just terrible if all we see in that world is people we don't recognise from our real world."
