Fatal Shooting At Cape Town Airport Sushi Bar

One person has been killed and three others injured in a shooting at Cape Town's international airport.

The incident happened in a sushi restaurant and there was no disruption to flights, said airport communications manager Deidre Davids.

Most passengers were unaware of the incident, she said.

Police have cordoned off a small section of the airport.

They would not comment on reports that a man shot his girlfriend before turning the gun on himself.

A picture posted on Twitter apparently showed a man lying on the floor with a gunshot to his head.

News24 quoted witness William Scott as saying: "The shooter jumped over the Ocean Basket sushi bar and chased one of the ladies working at the back.

"She ran though the side door, just past where I was sitting, and the man following behind her pulled out his pistol.

"He stopped her right in front of the Ocean Basket entrance when he then shot her and followed to shoot himself in the head.

"Before I left the lady who was shot was still alive."
