Zoya Anwar: Missing Teenager Is Found

An 18-year-old woman has been found in Birmingham after going missing for nearly a week.

West Midlands Police said Zoya Anwar had been spotted by security guards who alerted officers following a public appeal for information.

A police spokesman said: "Zoya has been taken to Birmingham Central police station, where trained officers will speak to her to make sure she is okay.

"It goes without saying that we thank everyone who helped the search for Zoya by sharing our appeal. You have yet again helped save the day."

Five people had been arrested and questioned on suspicion of kidnap in connection with her appearance. They were later released without charge.

Earlier, police had said the sixth-former's disappearance was "very out of character".

Officers searching for her had carried out house-to-house inquiries and forensic searches in recent days.

For once a missing person story with a happy outcome. So many are never found or not until it's too late.
