Foss Lake Bodies: Car Shows Signs Of Accident
A car containing the skeletal remains of three teenagers - recovered from a lake in Oklahoma last week - shows signs that it was involved in an accident.
The Camaro was pulled from Foss Lake, near Elk City, containing the three bodies, believed to be youngsters who went missing from the Sayre area in 1970.
A 1950s model Chevrolet that was also pulled from the lake had another three bodies inside and had been missing since 1969.
Trooper George Hoyle told the Daily Elk Citian newspaper that the Camaro was running when it hit the water.
He said the driver was driving "a little faster than he should have".
The impact damaged the radiator fan, a motor mount and the fuel pump.
Trooper Hoyle said the evidence suggests foul play was not involved and that the driver may have been unfamiliar with his surroundings.
The vehicles were recovered after state troopers testing sonar equipment detected them near a boat ramp.
Police believe they have solved two missing-persons cases involving six people.
