Friendly Fires putting on show in memory of late pal
Friendly Fires will headline a special gig in memory of their pal Adam Connolly, who committed suicide earlier this month.
The band's drummer Jack Savidge took to Twitter.com to appeal for help finding his missing roommate, but the search ended three days later when Connolly's body was discovered in east London.
The one-off show will take place next month at the XOYO nightclub in London to raise funds and awareness to prevent male suicide. The event will be hosted by actor Mathew Horne.
A post on the band's Facebook.com page, reads, "The friends and family of Adam Connolly, who tragically took his own life on 14th November, have joined together to organise a party on Wednesday 12th December to celebrate his life and to raise awareness and funds to prevent suicide among young men.
"Perhaps it sounds a tad (little bit) predictable in these kind of circumstances but we wanted to do something that celebrates Adam's life, his amazing creativity, and his beautiful warm, kind soul as well as showing how much we deeply love and miss him.
"The evening of the 12th is our way of sharing a little bit of happiness around recent events by picking out some music by a selection of bands and DJs that mean something to Adam in one way or another."
