Frozen Becomes Highest-Grossing Animation Ever
Frozen has beaten Toy Story 3 to become the highest-grossing animated film of all time.
The Disney film has now taken $1.07bn at the box office after soaring to number one in Japan this month.
The film, with characters voiced by Kristen Bell and Idina Menzel, has also dominated box offices both here and in the US, where it was released in November 2013.
It has also gone ahead of Pirates Of The Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest to take the number 10 spot in the worldwide box office chart.
Frozen tells the tale of Anna, a fearless optimist who sets off on an epic journey - teaming up with rugged mountain man Kristoff and his loyal reindeer Sven - to find her sister Elsa, whose icy powers have trapped the kingdom of Arendelle in eternal winter.
It has walked away with a variety of awards, including Oscars for best original song and best animated film.
The film gained more attention at the March 2 ceremony when John Travolta mispronounced Menzel's name when introducing her to the stage to sing Let It Go.
The actor publicly apologised after inexplicably calling her Adele Dazeem.
Frozen takes the title after beating Toy Story 3's takings of $1.06bn in 2010. The Lion King is the third biggest-grossing animation ever.
