Gallagher 'to write Bond theme tune'

Former Oasis rocker Noel Gallagher is in talks to be handed the honour of writing the new James Bond theme, according to reports.

The musician is reportedly in the running to pen the theme tune for Daniel Craig's upcoming outing in new 007 film Skyfall, and he is set to meet with movie bosses to discuss the project.

A source tells The Sun, "They're going to talk about potentially writing and performing the song for next year's new Bond film. Nothing is signed or official, it's just being discussed at the moment."

Gallagher previously expressed his interest in performing a song for the Bond franchise when he commented on his 2008 track Freaky Teeth, which he performed at gigs but never released.

He said, "I listened back to it thinking, 'That'd make a f**king great Bond theme'."

And Gallagher would prefer to see a artist create the next 007 tune after previous Bond tracks were penned by American artists like Madonna and Jack White.

He added, "It's a bit of a p**s-take that the greatest British agent of all time has to be soundtracked by a bunch of Americans."

But Gallagher isn't the only artist linked to landing the coveted Bond job - soul star Adele has also been touted for the Skyfall soundtrack.

what do you think?

In my opinion I think he will do an excellent job to the nxt bond film noel is a great lyricist and hm doing the song is. Fantastic news. I think he needs to watch what he says regarding previous stars tht have sung bond songs though as I thought madonna.s die another day was. Top draw . He.s talented his only fault he has is giving fellow musicians stick tht dont deserve it.

I always wanted one of them Lotus Esprit cars. Fibreglass. I 'ad a toy version. You go through these stages, when you're a teen, you want a sports car, which is OK, 'cause you don't 'ave much to put in it. Then you get to 40-ish and find, you need a longer car to carry things in. As you get older, you need something to put shopping in, or younger even. Gradually, James Bond sports car seem to make very little sense. Especially for touring the continent.
