Gamer Dies At Web Cafe - But No-One Notices

A Taiwanese man who died while playing video games at an internet cafe was left for hours after fellow gamers failed to notice his death.
The body of Chen Rong-yu, 23, was found slumped in a chair at a cafe in New Taipei city on Tuesday night, according to local reports.
He was rigid on a chair with his hands stretched out towards the keyboard and mouse, police said.
He had been playing League of Legends.
Mr Chen's body had apparently been sitting there for up to nine hours without any of the 30 other people in the cafe noticing.
He was last seen by a waitress talking on the phone around noon on Wednesday.
An initial police investigation found he might have died of a cardiac arrest triggered by low temperatures.
The man's family said he had been treated for a heart problem in September of last year.
Police are still looking into the cause of the death.
They say they suspect that a combination of tiredness, lack of movement and the cold weather could have caused blood clots and a heart attack.
what do you think?

Wheres your sense of humanity? Perhaps no-one will notice you when you die.

To be honest, I'm surprised this doesn't happen more often, everywhere. Sad indictment of the times we are living in. Got to feel sad for his family, what a waste of a young life

This proves that people using these "games " are totally oblivious to what is happening around them. This extends to families here where youngsters get "hooked" on games and have no idea of what is going on nearby. Technology is good, yes, but it has a lot to answer for. Peter. Holmfirth.

I have been through those internet cafes in Asia. No doubt they only approached the dead boy to hand him the bill or when another customer wanted to get his seat. Oftent those cafe's are open 24 hours.

Yeah, how come he was seen wednesday if he died tuesday? Maybe the waitress has a 'sixth sense' and the guy was trying to make a phone call because (like Bruce Willis) he doesn't know he's dead!! But seriously, it is a sad indictment of the times when someone can die in a room full of people and not be noticed! People do seem to paying more attention to the virtual/cyber world than the real one. Whenever I walk down the street now, I'm constantly being almost bumped into by people holding their smartphone out in front of them like it's some kind of oracle!

I have always worried about my boss going the same way as day after day in the office he sits in his chair absolutely motionless, and doesn't move until someone wakes him up when it's time to go home.............. Brian, Sutton Coldfield
