Gangster Squad cash heading for reshoots

Studio bosses at Warner Bros. have called the cast of Gangster Squad back to the set for reshoots following the Aurora cinema massacre in Colorado last month.

The executives pulled trailers for the film from cinemas following the tragedy, which cost 12 film fans their lives, because footage included a shoot-out at a movie theatre.

And they have since opted to get rid of the insensitive scenes, filmed at Hollywood's famous Chinese Theatre, altogether.

Sources tell The Hollywood Reporter that reshoots are set for next week in Downtown Los Angeles, where the shoot-out sequence will be reconceived.

Ryan Gosling, Josh Brolin and Anthony Mackie are expected to be on the set for three days of reshoots.

The period film takes the stars back to the 1940s and 1950s when police officials in Los Angeles were battling to keep the Mafia from taking over the city.
