Georgia Taylor in line for Corrie comeback

Watch out Weatherfield, one of the the Battersbys is back - Georgia Taylor is reportedly set to make a comeback to the Coronation Street cobbles.

The actress famously bounded onto the street in 1997 as the youngest Battersby, Toyah, with her loudmouth parents Janice and Les and step-sister Leanne.

And while Leanne, played by Jane Danson, is the only original member of the family left on the show, bosses at ITV1 are allegedly eager for Taylor to reprise her character, who left in 2003.

A source tells the Daily Mirror, "There has been talk for a few months now that Toyah's character could return - which would be ­brilliant news for Georgia who loved being in Corrie all those years ago.

"There is endless scope for terrific storylines with her stepsister Leanne."

Taylor played Dr Ruth Winters in BBC1's Casualty for four years, before leaving last December.
