Gervais and Professor Green growing moustaches for Movember

Funnyman Ricky Gervais and rapper Professor Green are among the stars growing moustaches in November to raise awareness of prostate and testicular cancer.

The Office creator has pledged to leave his facial hair untrimmed for 30 days in aid of an initiative dubbed 'Movember', and has uploaded a photograph of his new moustache on Twitter.com.

Professor Green is also taking part in the initiative, tweeting, "Lads it's time to get behind men's health and get on board for Movember UK 2012."

You Me At Six rocker Matt Barnes has urged his followers to sponsor him for the cause, revealing, "YO guys its MOvember and I'm getting involved and going to grow a badboy abraham lincoln tash, please donate! P.S whoever donates £5 or over to the cause ill tweet you saying thanks and some loving thoughts... Lets raise some money for a great cause."

Musician Frank Turner told his Twitter.com fans, "Shaving for Movember today! Going to play a short secret solo set to celebrate."
