Girl Dies After Carollers Fulfil Christmas Wish

A terminally ill Pennsylvania girl has died within days of seeing her wish fulfilled after thousands of Christmas carollers gathered outside her home.

Family spokesman Christopher Winters said eight-year-old Delaney Brown of West Reading "passed away quietly with her loving family by her side".

Delaney, nicknamed Laney, was diagnosed in May with a rare form of leukaemia.

Mr Winters said the family was requesting privacy "to celebrate their daughter's life and to mourn her loss".

A message posted on the "Team Laney" Facebook page on Christmas Day said: "My heart breaks right now. Our little angel on earth earned her pink glittery angel wings in heaven. ... I miss her so much already."

On Saturday, thousands of people gathered outside Delaney's home to fulfil her wish for a huge holiday sing-along.

On her Facebook page, a picture of Delaney giving two thumbs up was accompanied by the message: "I can hear you now!!! Love you!"
