Grammy bosses broadcasting Whitney Houston death documentary

Stars including Dave Grohl, Katy Perry and Taylor Swift are to give their personal accounts of the day Whitney Houston died in a new documentary to mark the first anniversary of the tragedy.

The legendary singer drowned in the bathtub of her Los Angeles hotel suite on the eve of the Grammy Awards last year, and her death prompted prizegiving bosses to frantically re-arrange the ceremony to include a tribute.

Grammy chiefs commissioned a documentary film to detail the aftermath of Houston's death and how it affected the show, and it will air a year on from the tragedy, on the eve of the 2013 awards.

A number of stars who were involved in the ceremony have spoken out for the film, including Jennifer Hudson, who stepped up to sing Houston's most famous hit I Will Always Love You at the show with just a few hours notice.

The Grammys Will Go On: A Death In The Family also includes accounts from Foo Fighters frontman Grohl, Swift, and Perry, as well as Bruno Mars, Bruce Springsteen and 2012 ceremony host LL Cool J, who said a prayer for Houston at the beginning of the show.

The documentary will air in America on 9 February, ahead of the Grammy Awards in Los Angeles on 10 February.
