Grammy Winner Adele Will Take Time Off For Love

Grammy Award winning singer Adele has said she could take five years away from music despite selling millions of albums across the world.

In an interview carried out before she took home six Grammys from Sunday's ceremony in Los Angeles, the 23-year-old told US Vogue magazine she wanted to take a break to focus on her relationship with 37-year-old boyfriend Simon Konecki.

"If I am constantly working, my relationships fail. So at least now I can have enough time to write a happy record. And be in love and be happy," she said.

"And then I don't know what I'll do. Get married. Have some kids. Plant a nice vegetable patch."

The Grammy Awards show was Adele's first performance after having surgery to remove polyps from her vocal chords last year, but she said the enforced absence may have led to the decision.

"I've never fully appreciated the things that I've achieved until now," she said. "In fact, my entire life has changed in the last 10 weeks. I've never been so happy, and I love it."

The singer, whose best-selling album "21" was inspired by a failed relationship, said she was "madly in love" with Mr Konecki, a charity fundraiser.

"He's wonderful. He looks after me," she said.

Adele has yet to say whether winning the Grammys has changed her mind.
