Grey's Anatomy stars run for charity

Grey'S Anatomy stars Sandra Oh, Chandra Wilson and Justin Chambers donned their running shoes to take part in a charity race in California on Sunday.

The castmates signed up for the Rock 'n' Roll Mini Run in Pasadena to show their support for Wilson and the non-profit organisation CureMito, which aims to fund research into mitochondrial disease.

Wilson became a celebrity ambassador for CureMito after her teenage daughter Sarina was diagnosed with the disorder three years ago.

The Lord of the Rings actor Sean Astin, former Full House star Andrea Barber and singer Joey McIntyre also competed at the event in a more gruelling 26-mile (21-kilometre) half-marathon.

In a post on his Twitter.com page after crossing the finish line, Astin wrote, "I had a blast running in the Rock 'n' Roll... Feeling great about 2:14 (finishing time)."
