One Direction heartthrob Harry Styles snubbed socialite Peaches Geldof's advances by deliberately giving her a false mobile phone number.

The singer was chatting to Bob Geldof's daughter at a social gathering when she asked for a contact number so they could hook up again, but unchivalrous Styles played a sneaky trick instead.

He tells OK!, "She must hate me. If she's reading this, say hello next time you see me, Peaches. I might give you the right number."
