Post-Match Punch-Up: Police Release Chisora
British heavyweight Dereck Chisora is released by German police after being quizzed over his brawl with fellow boxer David Haye in a post-match press conference.
The pair came to blows in the press conference following Chisora's defeat on points to Ukrainian WBC champion Vitali Klitschko.
Chisora was arrested as he prepared to board a plane in Munich, over his part in the brawl and his alleged threat to "shoot" Haye. He was later released without charge.
His trainer Don Charles was also arrested and questioned.
A German police spokesman said they were still looking for Haye, who was not at his hotel when officers arrived to speak to him and did not turn up for his scheduled flight.
Chisora and Haye have been blamed for bringing shame on British boxing following the expletive-ridden punch-up that has shocked the boxing world.
Promoter Frank Warren told Sky News: "It's something that sport doesn't need and something I hope never happens again."
During the melee, Chisora accused Haye of glassing him with a bottle and then threatened to shoot him as security guards tried to pull the pair apart.
British heavyweight Chisora began taunting Haye, who was in the crowd, about losing the WBA belt to Klitschko's younger brother Wladimir last July.
Chisora continued with his jibes in an effort to goad Haye into a future bout - repeatedly asking "how's your toe?" in reference to an injured toe Haye blamed for his loss to Wladimir.
Haye threw back taunts and Chisora got out of his seat to yell at Haye, nose to nose.
Haye, who was holding a glass-bottled drink in hand, appeared to throw a punch and the melee began.
Haye is also seen on video footage scuffling with Chisora's trainer Don Charles before swinging a large camera tripod over his head at Charles.
Moments later Chisora re-appears brandishing a glass bottle which is wrestled from his hand.
Hayes' manager, Adam Booth, suffered a bloody gash on his forehead and claimed to have been "glassed".
The brawl drew gasps and cries of shock from onlookers as the pair fell about the room, knocking equipment over for about five minutes.
The Ukrainian Klitschko brothers stood on the sidelines, looking on stunned.
Police arrived at the Olympiahalle arena as the incident was calming down, and Haye and Chisora eventually went their separate ways.
After seeing the drama unfold, Wladimir Klitschko said: "I'm totally disappointed, it went a little too far, the sport of boxing shouldn't be like that.
"Bloody faces in the news conference... fighting in the ring, not out. I'm really surprised."
A fight between the two domestic rivals had not been too far-fetched a possibility after Chisora's brave showing against Vitali.
Few expected him to last beyond the opening round but he remained composed throughout the bout and lost on points (118 - 110 twice and 119-111).
Haye, who was commentating for BoxNation, spent the evening calling out Vitali, who he hopes to fight this summer, despite technically being in retirement.

Typical Hayes. Surrounded by people to stop him getting really hurt. Still it was a better fight than when he capitulated against Klitchscov. Ban him for life, after all Lennox Lewis did for boxing in this country he,s dragged British boxing into the gutter, he should be in there with it.

What planet are you mate? the guy is retired and you can't ban a retired boxer. Weren't two boxers involved in the brawl, with the other spitting, slapping one actually walking aggressively towards Haye? What did u expect him to do? Cuddle him?

Has David Haye really earned the right to be anywhere near a boxing contest that he is NOT directly involved in? It's not only the boxing authorities that need to tighten up but also the media, we don't need to hear what Haye has to say about Klitschko's younger brother Wladimir because it's not realted to the fight being staged.

After such a dull encounter, an unsurprising and rather annoying predictability of fights involving any of the Klitschko bothers, it was refreshing to see a real fight - British bulldog fighting spirit displayed by the 2 British fighters during their disgraceful brawl... i for one have no complaints

Charles Adu-Gyamfi
I have no complains at all ; i thought the brawl was a welcome substitute, a proper display of fighting spirit especially, after such a dull, boring and waste of money/time fight. Henry Cooper would rather be annoyed by the dull 12 round sparring session.

that was easily the best bustup i`ve seen for years,,,,and if theyre that desperate to fight each other,,,get it on a.s.a.p and give the fight money to charity,,,BET ONE PART OF IT DOES`NT HAPPEN

All looks very staged to me. Booth only had to slightly cut himself with glass or a razor for added effect. Should help sell lots of tickets for the fight.

Another reason boxing should have been banned. it serves little, beneficial purpose other than to teach our boys to go and beat up little kids in the playground and later onto the streets as thugs. Voilence disguised as 'sport' is never the answer in today's society.

PitstopatTesco
if it was a publicity set up, or not, either way it's disgraceful, more British sportsmen etc taking the UK nearer to the gutter.

Both thease two should not be allowed to box again, they looked like the rioters that destroyed so much, it's just not the example to set.
