Heather Locklear and Richie Sambora get along better since divorce

Former couple Heather Locklear and Richie Sambora have become "better friends" since they ended their marriage, according to the rocker.

The stars wed in 1994 and went on to have a daughter, Ava, but the former Melrose Place actress filed for divorce in 2006.

Now, six years on from their split, Sambora reveals he has a good relationship with his ex thanks to their devotion to their 15 year old offspring.

He tells Access Hollywood Live, "We're very good. It's actually even beyond for (our daughter's) sake. Heather and I really respect each other and we've become better friends, I think, now that we're not married. (We) go out all the time as a family."
