Hilton Hotels To Create 1,500 Jobs In UK

Hilton is to create around 1,500 jobs as part of an expansion plan in the UK, which will see 20 new hotels being built over the next few years.

The firm is also expecting to open more than 110 new hotels across Europe, resulting in 8,500 new jobs by 2014.

New UK sites will include Lincoln and Burton-on-Trent.

Simon Vincent, Hilton's European area president, said: "While unemployment figures in Europe continue to rise, Hilton Worldwide is experiencing an exciting period of growth which will see us continue to offer a wealth of rewarding career options."

The UK, Russia, Turkey, Germany and Poland were all identified as key growth areas for new hotels and jobs.

Ben Bengougam, vice president of HR for Europe said: "With continued growth across our European estate, driving the talent agenda is paramount to our recruitment strategy.

"We are seeking passionate people interested in hospitality careers with a range of experiences as well as transferable skills from backgrounds outside the hospitality industry."

Hilton operates in more than 80 countries and has more than 500,000 rooms.
