Homeland Star Claire Danes Becomes A Mum
Homeland star Claire Danes has become a mother after giving birth to a baby boy, her publicist has announced.
The Emmy award-winning actress, 33, and her British actor husband Hugh Dancy have named the new arrival Cyrus Michael Christopher Dancy. He was born on Monday.
It is the first child for Danes and 37-year-old Dancy, who married in 2009.
Danes' performance as CIA operative Carrie Matheson in Homeland earned her an Emmy in September.
The psychological thriller won the TV industry's highest honour of best drama series, while Danes' co-star, British actor Damian Lewis, also picked up a gong.
It is not yet known if the new mother will attend the Golden Globe Awards on January 13, where she is up for best performance by an actress in a television series for the same role.
She also previously won multiple awards for her work on 2010 TV film Temple Grandin, and as a 15-year-old in the 1990s coming-of-age TV drama My So-Called Life.
Dancy next stars in NBC's Hannibal, an adaptation of Thomas Harris' novel Red Dragon.
