Hulk Hogan: 'I was asked to join Metallica'

Wrestler-turned-reality TV star Hulk Hogan has sensationally revealed he was once asked to consider joining Metallica.

The beloved WWF star was a session musician before he turned to the ring, and he admits his career almost took a very different path.

He tells The Sun, "I played bass guitar. I was big pals with Lars Ulrich and he asked me if I wanted to play bass with Metallica in their early days but it didn't work out."

His love for music never left him and Hogan admits he has always been a huge fan of the Stone Roses, revealing he used to work out to their songs.

He adds, "I love the Stone Roses. They're getting back together, right? That's cool, man."
