Huntington-Whiteley Named Top Style Icon

Model and actress Rosie Huntington-Whiteley has been named the year's top style icon at the Elle Style Awards.

Mad Men actress Christina Hendricks and Sarah Burton, designer of the Duchess of Cambridge's wedding dress, were also honoured during the ceremony at London's Savoy Hotel.

Transformers star Huntington-Whiteley was presented with her award by Jerry Maguire star Cuba Gooding Jr.

The 24-year-old, who is dating actor Jason Statham, was last year named the world's sexiest woman in a magazine poll.

Meanwhile, fellow Burberry model Eddie Redmayne took the best actor award.

Burton, who won acclaim for her work on the royal wedding in April 2011, took the international designer of the year award, presented by supermodel Naomi Campbell.

And red-haired Hendricks, who plays feisty secretary Joan Holloway in hit US show Mad Men, was named best TV star.

The best actress award went to Oscar-nominated Michelle Williams, who was due to accept her award from Simon Curtis, her director for My Week With Marilyn.

Downton Abbey - which stars Curtis' wife Elizabeth McGovern - triumphed yet again, scooping the prize for best TV show.

And Florence Welch, of Florence + The Machine, was named best music act.

Alexa Chung hosted the magazine's 15th annual style awards. The ceremony featured performances by Brit Award winner Emeli Sande with Professor Green.

Guests included Christina Ricci, Jessica Chastain and Dizzee Rascal.
