Injured Grizzly Bear Mauls Hunter Who Shot It
A hunter who was mauled by a grizzly bear he had earlier shot had to wait overnight for medical help due to bad weather in Alaska.
John Matson was cared for by fellow hunters following the attack on Monday, 50 miles west of McGrath.
The man from Rhode Island was on a guided hunt when he shot the grizzly bear.
He went to look for the animal which then attacked him - after being shot several more times, the bear fled again.
After waiting overnight Mr Matson was taken to hospital in Anchorage for treatment on injuries to his head and body.
