Jackson Shows Off Trailer For New Hobbit Film
Peter Jackson and the cast of final Hobbit film have showed off a teaser trailer for The Battle Of The Five Armies at Comic-Con in San Diego.
Jackson added he would love to have been able to show a clip from the film but the director says he is still working on finishing the movie and perfecting the CGI war sequences.
The film, which is released in December, sees elves, men and dwarves unite for "one final battle" but Jackson assured over 6,000 fans in Hall H that the movie wouldn't be "too dark".
He said: "Dark isn't the word I'd use. These are fun movies - even the 'Rings' movies are fun.
"It's not a comical as the first Hobbit movie, that's for sure. We're getting closer to the tone of The Fellowship of the Ring."
There were plenty of laughs on the panel - which included Benedict Cumberbatch, Andy Serkis and Cate Blanchett - as a blooper reel from all six Hobbit and Lord of the Rings films was shown, which included Sir Ian McKellen lifting Gandalf's robe to show off his pants.
Jackson was also in a playful mood at the four-day festival of pop culture, revealing on his Facebook page that he had dressed up as an Evil Jester and walked around the convention floor posing for pictures with unsuspecting fans.
The trailer was shown exclusively to fans at Comic-Con but is expected to be released in the next couple of months.
Elsewhere Marvel Studios delighted Hall H with their Saturday night headline slot by assembling the cast of The Avengers onto the stage to official launch the sequel The Age of Ultron.
Comic-Con draws to a close on Sunday.
