Jamaica: US Girl And Cousin Shot Dead
A New York woman says her teenage daughter and her cousin were murdered while they visited relatives in Jamaica.
Suzette Clarke-Grose told WABC-TV that her daughter Franciena Johnson, 19, was visiting her grandmother and cousin, Nadia Fearon, 18, in the lead up to Christmas.
Johnson and Fearon were reported missing by relatives and their bodies were later found floating in a salt marsh in May Pen on December 20, said Ms Clarke-Grose.
She said local police believed the pair were kidnapped.
"I was told it appears they kidnapped them in (a) car," said Ms Clarke-Grose, adding, they were found with "gunshot wounds".
Johnson was born in Jamaica but moved to Brooklyn as a child, while her cousin still lived on the Caribbean island, said Ms Clarke-Grose.
The 19-year-old had been studying to become a nurse.
"She was bubbly and loving, very respectful. I can't imagine (someone) doing something, she was someone you could only love," said Ms Clarke-Grose.
