Jared Followill is engaged

Kings Of Leon rocker Jared Followill is engaged to wed his model girlfriend Martha Patterson.

The bassist, who only began romancing Patterson at the beginning of 2012, proposed to the beauty at his Tennessee home and presented her with a self-designed four-carat cushion-cut diamond ring on 11 April.

A representative for the star has confirmed the happy news to website JustJared.com.

Followill teased fans about a special announcement at midnight on Wednesday, writing in a Twitter.com post, "Big news coming tomorrow! (It's not a sextape.......yet)", and as fans started guessing he added, "Everybody asking if I'm pregnant: I'm not the type who will wait the mandatory 8-12 weeks to tell you. As soon I see a + (on a pregnancy kit), I'm tweeting it."

Followill previously dated Twilight star Ashley Greene, while Patterson was most recently linked to Greene's ex-boyfriend Joe Jonas.
