Jared Leto heartbroken as dog is put down

Jared Leto is heartbroken after his beloved pet pooch was put to sleep on Wednesday.

The actor/rocker took his dog Sky to a vet to be put down after the animal fell ill.

Leto uploaded a snap of his loyal companion on Twitter.com, and explained to fans why he had missed out on a planned online chat.

He writes, "Had to put my dog to sleep tonight. His name was Sky. He was the best. Sorry for the missed chat."
