Jay-Z and Ron Howard teaming up for new documentary

Rap mogul Jay-Z is teaming up with director Ron Howard to shoot a new documentary about the making of his upcoming music festival in Pennsylvania.

The 99 Problems hitmakers is set to launch the inaugural Made in America festival in Philadelphia on 1 September, with hitmakers like Drake, Pearl Jam, and Rick Ross all set to perform.

The two-day event will celebrate new artists and industry veterans alike, and now fans will get a chance to go behind the scenes and watch how mastermind Jay-Z put together the highly-anticipated spectacle.

Apollo 13 filmmaker Howard will direct the project, while record label executive Steve Stoute will co-produce with Oscar winner Brian Grazer, who tells the New York Post, "It is going to be born through Jay-Z's perspective... how he puts the event together.

"Jay stayed the king for a very long time... I can't even begin to explain how he is capable of remaining relevant. He is a phenom, like a musical (basketball icon) Michael Jordan."
