Jennifer Aniston and George Clooney named most popular apocalypse companions

Jennifer Aniston and George Clooney have emerged as the top male and female choices for companionship when the world ends, according to a bizarre new poll.
Taking inspiration from the recent Steve Carell and Keira Knightley film Seeking a Friend for the End of the World, movie-streaming service Blinkbox asked 2,000 members who they would most like to spend the apocalypse with.
Top female companions include blonde bombshell Scarlett Johansson, who is in second place, and Spanish siren Penelope Cruz, who comes third, one position ahead of Jessica Alba.
Superspy Daniel Craig is the second favourite male companion, Hollywood hunk Brad Pitt is third, and Drive star Ryan Gosling in fourth.
Mad Men star Christina Hendricks and Twilight heartthrob Robert Pattinson round off the top fives.
A Blinkbox spokesman says, "Let's face it, if the world's going to end, we'd all like to go out with a bang, and a clinch with our favourite Hollywood star would certainly help to take the edge off things."
The poll was released as Doomsday predictions the world would end on Friday were proved untrue.
