Jennifer Lawrence gown rips at SAG Awards

Jennifer Lawrence was left red-faced as she prepared to collect her best actress honour at the Screen Actors Guild Awards when her gown fell open, almost exposing her underwear.

The actress attended the ceremony in Los Angeles on Sunday and scooped the prestigious award for Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Leading Role for her turn in Silver Linings Playbook.

However, Lawrence's big moment was almost ruined when she stood up to walk to the stage and the bottom half of her Christian Dior dress detached and slipped down, leaving her thighs on display.

The embarrassing moment was caught on camera, but the actress gamely smiled as she adjusted the garment to spare her blushes before taking to the stage.
