Jennifer Lawrence's Silver Lining Playbooks costumes goes under the hammer

Costumes worn by Oscar winner Jennifer Lawrence in Silver Linings Playbook have shattered auction estimates and sold for an impressive £7,500.

Auction bosses at Nate D. Sanders expected the five items up for grabs to draw bids of between £312 and £937 each, but one lot, a full-length wool coat the actress wore in the film, went under the hammer for £2,908 alone.

The white pants Lawrence wore during the film's ballroom dance sequence with co-star Bradley Cooper fetched almost £2,500 and a lot featuring a sports bra and a shirt sold for £2,000.

Even a tank top which Lawrence wore in a deleted scene fetched over £375.

The three-day online auction ended on Thursday.
