Jerry Weintraub lands Zurich Film Festival honour
Legendary Hollywood producer Jerry Weintraub will be presented with a lifetime achievement award at the Zurich Film Festival on his 75th birthday later this year.
The man behind Ocean's Eleven and The Karate Kid will be handed the Golden Eye honour at the movie event in Switzerland on 26 September - the day he celebrates turning a year older.
The festival's artistic director Karl Spoerri says, "We are extraordinarily proud to welcome Jerry Weintraub, one of Hollywood's true legends, to Zurich and are delighted that he will share his films and stories with our public."
Last year's recipient was Roman Polanski, who received a standing ovation when he picked up the prize two years after he was arrested en route to the annual ceremony over a sex charge dating back to 1977.
