Jesse Metcalfe hired racing trainer for new Dallas episodes

Actor Jesse Metcalfe ensured he excelled in his upcoming Dallas race scenes by taking professional lessons before the shoot.

The former Desperate Housewives star plays Christopher Ewing in the revamp of the hit US soap opera, and a new episode shows his character going head-to-head with his rival on the racetrack.

Metcalfe reveals he trained at Texas Motor Speedway to gear up for the stunt and is proud of how the scenes turned out.

He tells TVGuide.com, "This is my favourite episode I shot all season, primarily because it's all about me, but also because I got to learn an entirely new skill set."
