Jessie J apologises again over postponed tour

Pop star Jessie J has defended her decision to postpone her UK tour to finish work on her next album, insisting she wants gig-goers to know her new music before she takes to the stage.

The Price Tag hitmaker has pushed back her upcoming Nice to Meet You Tour shows by eight months after failing to complete work on her second album, the follow-up to her hit 2011 debut Who You Are.

Fans expressed their disappointment on Twitter.com, and Jessie J has now explained the reasons behind the decision.

In a series of posts on her page, she writes, "I could do my UK tour in Feb (sic) but my album will not be out before hand so if I did new songs you wouldn't know them. I have personally moved it back to make sure you all get a bigger and better show and will know the music I'm performing.

"My album is not finished and I am giving myself more time to finish it. I understand some of you are disappointed as am I. Music and art cannot be rushed. I promise It will be worth the wait. Thank you for supporting me."

The tour was due to kick off in Nottingham on 26 February, but it will now begin in Belfast, Northern Ireland on 15 October.
