Jessie J pays tribute to fan who inspired head-shaving stunt
Jessie J has paid tribute to the fan who inspired her to shave her head for charity, branding the brave young woman her "hero".
The Price Tag hitmaker is sporting a new bald look after having her trademark black locks lopped off during the live Comic Relief TV telethon on Friday.
She has now revealed a sick fan named Amy came up with the daring idea when they met at London's Great Ormond Street Hospital last year, and she shared a photo of the youngster kissing her newly shaved scalp.
In a series of posts on her Twitter.com page, Jessie J writes, "This is Amy kissing my head... A year ago... I met Amy in G.O.S.H (Great Ormond Street Hospital) with *Make a wish* (a charity for young people with life threatening disease/illness to give them their final wishes).
"I said, 'I want to do something that could help raise money for charity to help young people like yourself.' She said, 'Why don't you shave your head? Not many people would expect to see you do that.' I said 'yeah OK.'
"This photograph was taken a year later on the 15th March 2013 after I shaved my head live on BBC 1... helping raise a record breaking 75 million pounds to go towards supporting people in need just like Amy. This picture will forever remind me why in life I must always recognise how I can help those who need it. Give time, understanding and most importantly dedication and love. I will always try my best to do good in my own little way. Thank you Amy, you are my hero."
Jessie J, One Direction, Simon Cowell and Hugh Grant were among the stars who helped generate a record £75 million during the Comic Relief festivities this year.
