John Travolta is still set to play Gotti

The executive producer of John Travolta's upcoming mobster movie about the infamous Gotti family has dismissed reports production on the film has been shut down.

The Pulp Fiction star is set to play the lead role of John Gotti in Gotti: Three Generations, but recent rumours suggested Hollywood bosses had abandoned the project after two masseurs filed sexual assault lawsuits against their leading man.

The lawsuits were subsequently withdrawn and dismissed, and Gotti: Three Generations executive producer Marc Fiore is adamant production was never affected by the false allegations.

He says, "I don't know why someone would say something so silly. I would not walk away from my movie because of bad PR. We are moving full steam ahead and John Travolta is still playing Gotti. John has been around quite a while... bad PR means good box office. I'm not too worried about it to be quite honest about it."

Shooting is scheduled to start in November.
