Journey singer's illness causes band to scrap gig
Veteran rockers Journey had to scrap a concert in Lafayette, Louisiana on Wednesday night after singer Arnel Pineda fell ill.
The Filipino frontman has been told to rest his voice by doctors and that means the Cajun Dome gig has been axed for a second time - the band had to cancel a show in Lafayette in August when Hurricane Isaac hit the Gulf Coast.
A statement from the Don't Stop Believin' hitmakers reads: "Journey was looking forward to tonight's show after Hurricane Isaac forced the August concert to be postponed. The band truly regrets now having to cancel the show due to Arnel's illness, but hopes to be able to perform in Lafayette the next chance they get."
The group's 30 October concert at the new Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York is still scheduled.
