Julian Casablancas backing independent film campaign

The Strokes frontman Julian Casablancas has agreed to provide the music for an independent movie if the project secures financial backing through a grassroots Internet campaign.

Producers behind She's Lost Control, a film about a sexual therapist who falls for one of her clients, have started a fundraising page on Kickstarter.com in a bid to generate £31,000 to get production rolling.

Casablancas has promised to get onboard and work with his composer pal Simon Taufique to score the film if the appeal is a success.

In a video on the Kickstarter page, Casablancas says, "I'm Julian, I'm one of Simon's friends. Whatever he needs, I'll do."

More than 110 backers have already contributed £7,333 towards the target amount.
