Julie Delpy planning to ask Woody Allen to star in her new movie

French actress-turned-director Julie Delpy is hoping to get the ultimate boost for her fledgling filmmaking career - by asking Woody Allen to star in her next movie.

The actress is keen to cast the revered writer/director in new film Virgo Rising and she's plucking up the courage to ask.

Delpy tells The Hollywood Reporter, "I have to see. Maybe it's not such a good film. It's called Virgo Rising. It's very funny. But I don't know if I'll do it. I don't know if I'll ever dare to offer him the part."

The actress will co-star with Allen if he agrees.
